AALU/GAMA Announces Two New Appointments

Josh Caron to Serve as VP of Legislative Affairs, Jennifer Fox to Serve as AVP of Political Affairs

WASHINGTON, D.C.
AALU/GAMA announced today that Josh Caron, former assistant vice president of political affairs, was promoted to vice president of legislative affairs. He succeeds Armstrong Robinson, who took over as senior vice president of government affairs in June. Jennifer Fox, former political affairs manager, was promoted to assistant vice president of political affairs.

“Josh is a proven leader for the organization and Jen is a rising star with extraordinary ability,” said Marc Cadin, AALU/GAMA CEO. “We need strong leaders like them to help unite the voice of the financial security profession and create new opportunities to connect our members with key policymakers. Their work on the political affairs team has cemented our GA department as a powerhouse in the industry and I’m excited to see what the next chapter holds.”

In his new appointment, Caron will play an integral role in leading AALU/GAMA’s advocacy efforts on Capitol Hill, with a focus on House and Senate policymakers. Prior to joining AALU/GAMA, Caron spent several years of his career working on numerous political campaigns including former President Barack Obama. A graduate of Arizona State University and native of Massachusetts, Caron lives with his wife and two dogs in the Petworth neigborhood of Washington, D.C.

“2020 is straining the financial security of millions of Americans; making clear the value and virtue of financial security professionals to their clients,” said Armstrong Robinson, SVP of Government Affairs. “Jen and Josh are helping us to build a team that is working daily to enhance the ability of the profession to deliver greater financial security to more Americans. They are each in their own right passionate advocates who enhance our work for the financial security profession and the clients they serve.”

Fox will oversee the political affairs team and the association’s ambassador program. Previously, she worked at the National Restaurant Association and Engine Advocacy where she engaged advocates on federal, state, and local issues. The George Washington University alum also serves as the president-elect of The Advocacy Association. She resides in Washington, D.C.
