Katie recognizes that having earned “a black belt in recruiting” from the “field up,” gives her a unique vantage point; her experience allows her to see how the company will stay ahead in the recruiting space. Low national unemployment coupled with relatively high entry-level salaries and educational debt loads make entrepreneurship a difficult first step for many inexperienced candidates. Even so, Katie sees tremendous opportunity in attracting the next generation of advisors from a wide range of niche markets, but also points out “the old way of drawing people in no longer works.”
